I have bought alot of great stuff from Tandemkross but this is not one of them. Maybe ok for plinking but not for competition. Whenever you grab gun naturally out of holster or off table puts gun in safe position. You have to change your grip to turn safety off and your thumb sticks up in the air. Continued use will ruin a correct grip. Would have given 0 stars if possible.

22 shooter

I have used a Tandemkross Triggers, firing pins, etc. over the years with complete satisfaction. Their service has been excellent. The quality of this thumb ledges is excellent. But, the functionality of the product is completely off. It does solve the problem of inadvertent safety engagement by using one's thumb to hold down the safety. In doing so, it completely throws off my strong hand grip, both in the single and two handed positions. The thumb is either forced straight up , thumb over, or thumb(s) under continues to force safety on. I will continue to use and recommend Tandemkross, but I cannot recommend this product. Tandemkross gave a no questions asked refund.

I was really excited about this safety as I shoot many 1911s and I am used to high grip with thumb on top of the safety. Install was quick and easy, however, the safety is very loose and if not held in place (w/thumb) it will “pop up” into safe during firing. When my son used it (he has different grip than me) one round of recoil is all it took to have it pop up into safe. Very frustrating. I haven’t taken it apart yet to investigate why and hope I can figure it out. If not, I will be returning.

Nifty upgrade that eliminates the accidental engagement of the safety...while providing a safe and practical position for the wandering thumb...placement is spot on. Install was not too difficult..felt more like a watchmaker. Video is very helpful. TK continues to inspire us with "worthy" upgrades ....which is why I keep coming back...Thank you TK

Competitive Shooter

The ledge solves the problem that most Competitive Shooters have when shooting the victory. Most everyone that I have spoken with says that they accidentally turn the safety on while shooting. This gives you a small thumb rest for your right hand. This is an awesome product and in my opinion Tandem Kross has hit a Home run with this one.. Great JOb TK...
