LCI Insert review

A few months ago I purchased a new Ruger 22/45 Target model It is a great little gun but I didn't care for the factory magazine release and after an online search I found that Tandemkross had a solution via their magazine release bushing. Problem solved. However, this review is regarding the TK LCI Replacement Insert. I had been having some intermittent FTF's and read that the factory LCI might be part of the problem, so I ordered and installed the replacement insert that eliminates the LCI. Problem solved again! No more FTF's! I'd also like to comment on TK's great customer service. The first LCI insert I ordered was the newly updated stainless steel one. The instructions indicated that the tiny set screw included was a very tight fit and to be careful during installation. Well, it was a VERY tight fit, so much so, that I damaged the hex fitting in the screw and the hex wrench that came with the kit. I advised TK and they immediately sent me a new one which I installed using a small drop of oil first. That one installed fine and I returned the original insert to TK. TK's response was super fast and very professional and if my experience was typical, you won't find a better company to deal with elsewhere.

Nice work

TandemKross stainless steel replacement insert is machined very well nice tight tolerances. Only note when putting this in your pistol put a drop of locktite on the set screw or after a few clips worth of shots you will havta take it apart to re tighten it. Other than that works and looks great

Simple, drop-in fit

I read online that some people were having trouble with failure to feeds and they simply bought this upgrade and it solved their problems. Some even said that they noticed an increase in accuracy since the stock LCI wasn't there to press on the chambered round. Makes the gun look a lot better too.

Awesome product from an awesome company

I've already installed the Tandemkross magazine disconnect bushing and now I've installed the LCI Cover Plate in stainless finish. Both installs were easy with the included instructions. The LCI Cover Plate matches the finish of my pistol and the fit was perfect. Aloha and mahalo Tandemkross!!!

No more LCI!

Easy to install, looks nice, and glad to finally get rid of the Load Chamber Indicator. What was Ruger thinking???
