The Volquartsen target hammer helps to reduce trigger pull and also improves lock time- ideal for NSSF Rimfire Challenge, Steel Challenge and other speed shooting competitions. The Target Hammer is designed to work with the Browning factory sear and is easy to install, producing a crisp trigger pull measuring about 2 lbs.

The real trigger job
With the Volquartsen hammer you get a 2 1/2 pound sear spring. This makes the already crisp 4 pound trigger a silky smooth 2 pounder and you can actually begin to see what this design can do. The straight trigger is a revelation but this hammer and spring is a wonder.

great hammer
I installed this with the new trigger. They work great together. It can be a little hard to install just pay attention to details when you take the old one out.

Substantial Improvement
Between the new hammer and replacement sear spring, the trigger was improved subtantially over the factory parts. Found a crisper break and reduced trigger pull. Combined with a quick sear engagement surface polish and the Victory trigger with over-travel screw, the Buckmark became usable for bullseye competition.

Match Director NSSF Rimfire
Working just fine. I had a good hammer in my target Buckmark but actually wore it out. I was starting to get slam fires and failure to hold the hammer in cocked position. Glad this was available and didn't need to start over with a factory hammer. About the same trigger pull as factory but no more slam fires.

I bought this for my Buckmark and used it in conjunction with a Volquartsen adjustable trigger. The hammer strut was too long to fit . I called Scott Volquartsen, and he suggested I use the original strut that came with the gun. I did just that and the trigger pull went from a gritty 5 lbs to a clean 2 lbs 2 oz . It might be less than that as it has cleaned up more as it broke in. My only regret is that I didn’t use the victory trigger. I have one on my Ruger Mark Iv and the feel is much better than the curved trigger.
